Press Officer's Role Description


Responsible for communicating with the press and media relating to any publicity and marketing that may be appropriate
	responding to any approaches from members of the press or media

Ensure all material released to the press or media is in accordance with Club policy
	must not contain any defamatory content
	must not contain any contentious opinion that may cause offence to any party

Be professional and courteous in all communication with any members of the press or media
	affording due respect and patience
	explaining and justifying any matters of Club policy in accordance with the rules and governance of athletics.
 
Establish links with the press or media to publicise forthcoming Club events or news items that may be of general interest
	highlighting particular achievements of the Club.

Generate public interest in the Club and attract new members and offers of help and support.

Liaise with the Website Editor to publish press reports

Promote the club when and whereever possible
